The simple pleasures of my life here on the farm

~Knowing my family always loves and supports me.

~Singing lullabies while rocking the baby to sleep & hearing the familiar squeak of the old rocking chair, that rocked both my boys, my niece and now my granddaughter.

~Doing chores early in the morning and hearing the soothing sounds of the horses chewing their hay.

~The sounds of the peepers while going to sleep.

~A good cup of coffee early in the morning and listening to the sound of the clock ticking, knowing time is going by and not caring.

~The laughter, joking and tales of the day at the dinner table with my family enjoying a good home cooked meal.

~Watching the cat hunt down grasshoppers from my favorite shade tree on a warm late summer afternoon.

~My husband and son’s calling me during the day just to say hello.

~And my favorite, giving the Haflingers, Sage & Jobie a bath and getting wetter than they are.

I hope the title says it all. Here it is Friday already and I haven’t finished all that I wanted to this week. Filling out forms and applications takes time, more time than I like it to, and I’m still looking for work.
