Awards

They are one of the fun part of blogging.  They always brighten my day when I see them on the blogs I love to read. Here are the ones that have been given to us. They are special and I love them, thank you for thinking of us.

This one came from Mel at Mels Back Yard. There she writes about her life and her family. If you need a quick pick me up stop in there she will make you laugh! Thank you Mel!

A fellow New Hampshire-ite, Donna  at Little House in the Country-also gave us this award. If you want to know about living in the North Woods this is the place to be. I sure do wish I was a neighbor because I would be over there all the time. So much to see and do!

Donna also sent this one our way. Thanks Donna! 10 things ay’? That will be wicked hard to list just 10…I’ll be back with my choices….

  1. Was wondering if you know of a recipe for canning grapes….I do not have a juicer so am not able to make juice…..

Can you can them like with peaches or something or like you would bing cherries……

    thanks Darlene

  2. Hi Darlene,

You can still make juice without a juicer. Place the grapes in a pot with a bit of water and cook until mush, then place the entire contents into a jelly bag and let drip. Once done add water and sugar to taste…. This is also the start of jelly….

  3. I am starting my grape, raspberry, blueberry & we hope also Rhubarb this spring. This is nice to know I can still make grape juice & jelly this way! Thanks for sharing.
One question: where do you get a jelly bag? I have used cheescloth. Is this something different?

  4. Mine is an old cotton pillow case. Several layers of cheese cloth can also be used.

  5. Min jelly bag is an old pillowcase. I wash it out when I’m done with it and save it only for jelly making now.
