Horse Treats
I needed to use up some apples that were rather soft.
Here is a recipe for the horses in your life. I make these often and have substituted carrots and even raisins for the apples.
Sage’s Head Bobbers
I call them this because Sage while she is eating these bobs her head up and down…so cute
1 cup uncooked oatmeal or their sweet feed
1 cup unbleached flour
1 cup shredded carrots
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup molasses
Mix ingredients in bowl as listed.
Make little balls and place on cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 for 15 minutes or golden brown in color.
I found the dough very “goopy” so I rolled it in plastic wrap in a roll about the size of a quarter and partially froze it so that it would slice off in neat little rounds. Like refrigerator cookies. Worked like a charm! Most of the time it just add by teaspoon onto the cookie sheet.
